In 2012, Council engaged a specialist consultant, NSW Public Works, to undertake the Hazelbrook and Woodford Catchments Mainstream and Overland Flow Flood Study (Flood Study).
An important part of the study involved a Community Survey of property owners within the study catchments in July 2012. The survey responses provided valuable information on historical flood information and flooding problems within the catchments which has been used by the consultant for the preparation of a draft Flood Study report. The Flood Study also investigated rainfall data collection and flood modelling. The consultant completed a draft Flood Study report in August 2013.
