The Council has prepared its Draft Operational Plan 2014-2015 and invites the views of the community. The draft Operational Plan 2014-2015 includes: Annual service delivery actions; Asset Works Program; Budget; Financial sustainability strategies; Rating statement; and Fees and charges.
The draft documents are now on public exhibition until Wednesday 28 May 2014. The documents can be accessed from the Library at the right of the project page or you can view hardcopies the Katoomba and Springwood Office of the Council or in Council libraries.

You can now have your say on the Draft: Hazelbrook Village Centre Public Domain Masterplan.The plan is a review of the public spaces in the Hazelbrook village centre is timely to identify ways in which it can be made more functional, safe and attractive for both locals and visitors. The Masterplan seeks improvements to parking turnover and traffic circulation, village character and pedestrian amenity.
A Public Domain Masterplan for Hazelbrook Village Centre has been prepared in consultation with local organisations and businesses. You are invited to review the proposal and provide any comments to the Council. These will be recorded and incorporated where feasible and appropriate into the final document.

The draft Blue Mountains Crime Prevention Plan (CPP) is on public exhibition for review and comment. The draft CPP focuses on the reduction of malicious damage including incidents of graffiti within Blue Mountains Local Government Area.
The draft CPP has been developed in accordance with the Attorney General's Department’s guidelines for developing a ‘Crime Prevention Strategy’ and in consultation with key stakeholders. The CPP identifies roles and responsibilities of Council and other stakeholders and outlines an Action Plan to reduce the incidents of malicious damage in the Blue Mountains.

Blue Mountains City Council has prepared a new Local Environmental Plan (LEP) known as DLEP 2013 which will replace Councils existing LEP 2005, LEP 1991 and LEP 4.
This draft plan has been prepared in response to the State Government's requirement for all NSW Councils to conform to the Standard Instrument (LEP plans) Order 2006 (also known as the 'Standard Instrument Local Environmental Plan').
The DLEP is now on public exhibition from 4 December 2013 to 5 March 2014.

Council has recently completed a draft flood study of the Hazelbrook and Woodford Catchments. The draft Hazelbrook and Woodford Catchments Flood Study is now on public exhibition until Friday 25 October 2013.
Council is inviting property owners in the study catchment and other interested people in the community to attend a Community Information Session and have their say on the draft Flood Study. To find out more click here .

Recent changes to the NSW Swimming Pools Act 1992 include new responsibilities for both pool owners and Blue Mountains City Council. One of the requirements is for Council to develop and implement a swimming pool inspection program in consultation with the local community.
In line with the requirements of the new Act, Council is commencing a review of its swimming pool inspection program. Council is seeking community comment on this important issue through our online survey.
