St Johns Park Inclusive Improvements

Council is applying for a grant of up to $500,000 from the NSW Government, to make St Johns Park (Blaxland) more inclusive.

Inclusive improvements mean we’ll be looking at ways to make the park better and more accessible for everyone. ‘Inclusive’ doesn’t mean we’ll provide one thing for people with additional needs, and one for everyone else – it means everything can be used by everyone.

The improvements will also be about more than just play equipment, it will be about the whole experience. The key focuses of this improvement will be:

  • Can I get there?
  • Can I play there?
  • Can I stay there?

This grant will enable improvements that will actively involve more children with additional needs being able to play in the space. Council will continue to look for other funding opportunities to upgrade this area as well as other parks across the whole of the Blue Mountains.

There will be a pop up event to discuss park needs, draft design on Sunday 8 March from 11am-2pm, on site.
