About this project
The Blue Mountains Active Transport Links Program aims to improve our streets for everyone, with safe and sustainable links between key destinations and towns across the Blue Mountains.
Council is working on plans for a new 4.5km pathway on Hawkesbury Road, between White Cross Road, Winmalee and Hawkesbury Lookout in Hawkesbury Heights to improve safety and access for walkers and riders.
Project status
Council has released the initial concept plans for the proposed route and community consultation was undertaken in January-February 2025, with the feedback provided being used to inform later stages of the project.
Following the initial survey works, Council is now undertaking an extensive design process which will involve safety auditing with transport authorities, before detailed plans are presented to the community.
Due to the significant amount of design and consultation required, it is anticipated that this project will be delivered in sections and community members and affected stakeholders will be consulted prior to building commencing.
Interested community members are encouraged to follow this project (via the right side of this page) to learn about key milestones and any future consultation opportunities.
This project is proudly funded by the Australian Government through the Active Transport Fund and Investing in Our Communities Program with additional support from the NSW Government.
