The Blaxland Masterplan captured the community-endorsed future vision for the town...
vibrant, distinctive and welcoming with a town centre that retains and enhances its varied services, facilities and activities. Above all - a hub for the local community.
To achieve this vision, Council is developing new planning controls for Blaxland, to encourage revitalisation in the town centre and improve public access.
We will come back to you once community feedback has been analysed.

Share November 2016: Community Workshop Success on Facebook Share November 2016: Community Workshop Success on Twitter Share November 2016: Community Workshop Success on Linkedin Email November 2016: Community Workshop Success linkAs a key part of its community consultation for the early stages of the Masterplanning for Blaxland, Council held a community workshop in the Sharon Burridge Hall at the Lower Mountains Community facilities on Saturday 26 November. Around 130 people attended on the day, using a drop-in session format.
Council provided summaries of background studies including Property, Retail, Traffic and Parking and Urban Design Analysis.
Participants were then able to comment on Blaxland town centre -“the bad bits”
Town Centre “good bits”And then identify what they saw as “opportunities”
They were also asked where they did their shopping
People were also asked what their “vision for Blaxland town centre” was
And there was a “Kid’s Vision”
Council staff are currently reviewing and summarising comments so that a range of options can be developed. Staff have also distributed a survey questionnaire that can be accessed on the Blaxland Have Your Say website.

- Why is that important to you?
- How would that be different to what you see now?
- What are some of the things that need to happen to create that kind of change?
Come along to the first consultation workshop and give your feedback in person on Saturday, 26 November, 10am - 4pm at the Sharon Burridge Hall, Blaxland Community Centre (33 Hope Street, Blaxland).The workshop will be self-guided so participantsmay take as little or as much time as they need.Staff and consultants will be available on theday to help and facilitate as well as activities for children.

These studies will provide a snapshot of the current status of urban elements/ infrastructure, retail and property markets, transport services (including traffic and parking) and a general review of planning attributes.
Copies of these studies will be available on the website in December 2016.
