Council’s newly launched Waterway Health Explorer is an exciting new way for anyone in our community to learn more about local waterway health.

Using the explorer, you can discover a range of water-related datasets from Council’s Waterway Health Monitoring Program. The purpose of the explorer is to inform the community about waterway health in the Blue Mountains. It gives a higher level of detail in support of the annual Waterways Health Snapshot.

This is the first time our data from over 25 years of monitoring programs has been brought together in one place and made publicly available.

The dashboard presents data from three water monitoring programs: ecological waterway health, recreational water quality, and freshwater crayfish surveys. It also shows how our water quality data can be applied to inform waterway management.

Feedback is welcomed to help us with future revisions of the explorer, or for planning future data visualisation projects.

Please access the Waterway Health Explorer dashboard here.
