Springwood Town Centre Activation
Have your say on Springwood Town Centre Activation
A community survey is now open and we are inviting residents, visitors and local businesses to share their feedback on the Springwood Town Centre Activation.
The survey covers a range of initiatives currently being explored or trialled in Springwood, including the temporary parklet on Macquarie Road, Telstra Park, business forums, marketing activities and events aimed at supporting the local economy and bringing people into the town centre.
Feedback will help Council understand what is working well, what could be improved and where future effort should be focused to support a more vibrant, accessible and welcoming Springwood town centre.
The survey is available below and will remain open until 15 March 2026.
If you, or someone you know, needs help accessing or completing the survey, or would like a paper copy posted to them, please call Council on 4780 5000.
Interested community members are encouraged to follow this project (via the right side of this page) to learn about key milestones and any future consultation opportunities.
MYST Youth Members and local residents at the parklet – December 2025 Overview: Springwood Community Improvement District Program
The Springwood Community Improvement District (CID) Place Activation Program is a collaborative pilot project between local businesses, Blue Mountains City Council, the NSW Government, and the Springwood community.
CIDs are place-based partnerships that support and grow local economies, high streets, and centres. They enhance local trading environments, encouraging people to get out into their local neighbourhoods and retail centres to enjoy local goods, services, and activities.
Together, we're reimagining Springwood’s town centre to be more vibrant, safe, and economically resilient.
This initiative will deliver on-the-ground improvements and community-led innovation through initiatives such as:
- Public space enhancements – including green spaces, landscaping and streetscape upgrades
- Business forums and co-design sessions – shape the future of Springwood with your input
- Public art and youth engagement – artistic activations to energise our town centre
- Technology – guiding data-driven, future-focused planning
- Place branding and marketing – celebrating what makes Springwood unique
These improvements are closely aligned with the Springwood Town Centre Masterplan. The masterplan provides a high level planning framework for the look, feel, vitality, accessibility, viability, sustainability of the town centre and was created following extensive community consultation in 2016.
