This consultation has concluded. Thank you for your interest and feedback.
Blue Mountains City Council has prepared Planning Proposal to introduce a new Standard Instrument zone (SP3-Tourist zone) into LEP 2015. The Planning Proposal also seeks to rezone certain sites to SP3-tourist zone and to rezone other specific tourism related sites to relevant existing zones. The sites included in the Planning Proposal are:
- Blackheath Caravan Park and Lakeview Holiday Cabins (SP3-Tourist zone)
- Hydro Majestic Hotel (SP3-Tourist zone)
- Scenic World (SP3-Tourist zone)
- Fairmont Resort (SP3-Tourist zone)
- Echo Point Motor Inn (rezone to R1 – General Residential)
- Parklands (rezone to R1 – General Residential)
- Church Missionary Society (partial rezone to RE2 Private Recreation with additional permitted uses in Schedule 1)
- School of Hotel Management and Waldorf Hotel (rezone to R1 – General Residential)
- Katoomba Precinct - 41 Violet Street and 119 Cliff Drive, Katoomba
As the Development Control Plan provides detailed planning and design guidelines to support the planning controls in the Local Environmental Plan (LEP), the proposed introduction of a new zone and the rezoning of certain strategic tourist sites required a review of the relevant controls within the DCP.
