How you can be involved

Council will be developing the Local Planning Statement over the next 12-18 months. Community consultation will be conducted throughout this process to inform and refine the Statement as it is developed.

The first opportunity to be involved is through the online mapping tool. This will be running
through October and November. Council is encouraging community members to use this platform to share their thoughts about:
  • What they value about the Blue Mountains
  • Things they’d like to see improved or planned better in the local area
  • Things that should be preserved or enhanced
We are seeking your views on how we use land across these key areas:
  • Housing and character
  • Environment
  • Transport
  • Culture and the arts
  • Employment and education
  • Tourism
Your responses will be used to develop the community’s vision, priorities, and actions for how we plan to use land in the local area. This will be refined with the community’s help in a second round of consultation to be conducted early next year. This will include more in depth engagement through targeted workshops.
