Community Achievement of the Year - Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Refers to the Blue Mountains Local Community Achievement of the Year award which recognises the exceptional contributions made by a group that has made an outstanding contribution to the community during the last year, within the Blue Mountains community during the past 12 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Community group must consist of two (2) or more people
- Commercial organisations are excluded
- Nominee must not have received this awarded previously
- Nominee must not fall within any of the ineligibility categories as stated below.
- Unsuccessful nominees may be re-nominated in subsequent years
- The event has to have been held within the last 12 months
- Events can be held at any venue or location within the Blue Mountains LGA
- Events can be nominated by commercial, not-for-profit, community events, school, social or sporting groups/organisations.
Selection Criteria
- The award must be for a community group of two or more people, based and operating in the Blue Mountains Local Government Area that has made an outstanding contribution to the community during the last year.
- For example they raise funds for a community charity, event or project, conduct a successful project, event or activity or who bring recognition and credit to the community through a cultural, environmental, educational or sporting achievement/s.
