The Gully Aboriginal Place - Draft Plan of Management

In partnership with The Gully Traditional Owners Inc, the Council commenced work on updating the Plan of Management for the Gully Aboriginal Place (Upper Kedumba River Valley) in 2018. Following extensive engagement with members of The Gully Aboriginal Community and the broader community, a Draft Plan of Management has been prepared and is now on public exhibition.
The updated draft Plan places a greater emphasis on the Aboriginal cultural values of The Gully, which inform how it will be managed into the future. The draft Plan builds on the important progress made in recognising the importance of The Gully to The Gully Gundungurra and Darug Traditional Owners and their ongoing relationship with this special place in Country. The draft Plan also recognises the ongoing impacts that the construction of the race track had on The Gully community and on the personal lives of those who lived there.
Importantly the Draft plan defines the direction for the future care and protection of The Gully in recognition of the significant place it holds in the lives of families from The Gully and the broader community.

This survey aims to assist Council understand how the
community uses The Gully, what the community values about the Gully, and what
the community think is important regarding the Gully’s future.
The information gained from the survey will be used to guide the revision and updating of The Gully Plan of Management.
