I'd like to compost but I don't know how?

We promise, composting is really easy. Once you're up and running, you'll never want smelly food scraps in your kitchen bin again. Click on the Compost Revolution under 'Web Links' to watch a short tutorial. You can also check out the video's and download the composting booklet for more information.

What is a kitchen caddy?

It's a 7 litre container with a lid that keeps your food scraps tidy until you drop them off to your compost champion.

Can I try Compost Hub just for a month?

You're welcome to start and stop anytime. Simply update your pin to say you're inactive and email wasteofficer@bmcc.nsw.gov.au to let us know.

How long does it take to fill up a kitchen caddy?

It depends on how big your household is and how good you are at avoiding food scraps! We can provide up to 3 kitchen caddies if you have a large household.

I'm moving out of the area and can no longer participate, what should I do?

Let your neighbours know, update your pin to say you're inactive and send an email to wasteofficer@bmcc.nsw.gov.au.

How can I get more contributors?

Drop-off some flyers to your neighbours to let them know about the program. These can be downloaded in the Document Library to the right of the screen, or contact wasteofficer@bmcc.nsw.gov.au and we'll post some out to you.

Check out our short 1 min video on connecting with your neighbours. When you are out and about, please adhere to road rules, don't trespass on private property, and if it's dark, make sure you are highly visible.

My neighbour isn't online. How can they register as a contributor?

You can either download a registration form from the Document Library to the right of the screen and send it to Waste Officer, BMCC, 2 - 6 Civic Place, Katoomba or send an email to wasteofficer@bmcc.nsw.gov.au and we'll put a hard copy in the post.
