Upcoming road closures at the intersection of Govetts Leap Road and Wentworth Street

As part of the Blackheath Village Centre upgrade works, some temporary road closures around the intersection of Govetts Leap Road and Wentworth Street will occur from next week.
These temporary closures are necessary for the construction of three raised pedestrian crossings which will improve pedestrian safety at this key intersection.
Please find below the construction locations and timeframes (weather permitting).

One lane closure on Govetts Leap Road
Time: 8am Monday, 3 June 2024, to 7am Wednesday, 5 June 2024.
Location: Govetts Leap Road. Western side of the intersection of Govetts Leap Road and Wentworth Street. -
Full road closure on Wentworth Street
Time: 8am Wednesday, 5 June 2024, to 7am Saturday, 8 June 2024.
Location: Wentworth Street. Northern side of the intersection of Govetts Leap Road and Wentworth Street. -
Full road closure on Wentworth Street
Time: 8am Tuesday, 11 June 2024, to 7am Thursday, 13 June 2024.
Location: Wentworth Street. Southern side of the intersection of Govetts Leap Road and Wentworth Street.
Traffic controls and detours for the road closures will be in place, to help minimise disruption for the community. Access to footpaths will remain open.

Some noise and vibration will occur during the construction work. However, active efforts will be made to eliminate and mitigate noise and vibration where possible.
