Target audience: Executive, managers, co-ordinators, team/program leaders and key staff who have people leadership responsibilities.

This consultation is open to all staff. The current submission process is for staff only.

Deadline for comments: Friday 24 July 2020.

Contact: Sue Audley, Program Leader – Employee Relations

Background:

The Employee Reference Checks Policy is a refresh of the current References Policy. It is primarily for reference by employees who have people leadership responsibilities and may be asked to provide employment-based references for those staff. It is also targeted to employees who may be seeking employment outside Council who require an employment reference, or employees seeking verification of their current employment for financial institutions, real estate agencies and the like. In providing employment-based references, Council must abide by the requirements of the Privacy Code of Practice for Local Government.

It is anticipated that this policy will be adopted by Council and released internally.
