Last chance to have your say on St Johns Park play space upgrade

You are invited to have your say about final designs for a new play space at St Johns Park at Blaxland Oval.

Blue Mountains City Council has secured a $500,000 grant to upgrade the existing play space at St Johns Park and build a new accessible toilet.

The funds will provide new equipment and improvements that make the space inclusive for users of all abilities.

The proposed play space upgrade includes a new mammoth swing, accessible carousel, voice tube, garden chimes, an arch bridge, and a boat seat and expression seat added to the existing swing set.

The new equipment will be suitable for all levels of ability, including older children. Other proposed changes include picnic and seating areas, additional tree plantings, accessible parking spaces and connected pathways, fencing near the road, and surrounding landscaping.

Blue Mountains City Council received funding through the Australian Government’s Community Development Grants Programme for this project.

  • CLOSED: This survey has concluded.

We would like your input into the inclusive improvements for the St Johns Park area. The improvements will help to make the area more accessible and to make the play area more inviting and inclusive.

This survey will close on Friday 13 March.

We would like you to consider the following three (3) questions –

    • Can I get there?
    • Can I play?
    • Can I stay?

These questions help us to identify how we can make this an inclusive playspace.
