Consultation has concluded.

Meet us on-site

  • Friday 6 December 9-11am
  • Saturday 7 December 10am-Midday

A recent small scale upgrade of this play space included new rubberised soft fall, accessible play pieces and seating. The upgrade followed concerns about the previous play area that had bark soft fall. This was considered not appropriate for under 5s, who primarily use this space. The previous play equipment had also reached its end of life and was not compliant with the space and was therefore removed.

The initial consultation approach involved us partnering with Carinya Childcare Centre in Springwood. Children and their Early Childhood teachers were engaged to select the playground design. Five playground options had been provided by reputable play space companies to meet the safety and space requirements and children their Early Childhood teachers were engaged in selecting the playground they wanted to play in.

Following community feedback this month that we need to improve this space, we are holding further consultation.

Please note: There are many site constraints as this is a small play space and the fall zone/swing zone requirements do impact on the options available. The equipment must also be positioned so that it does not allow children to climb the fences.
