FAQs
What is a parklet?
A parklet is a small, publicly accessible space created by converting part of a street such as a parking bay into an area for people to use and enjoy.
The recently installed parklet provides shade and a comfortable place for the community to sit, meet and rest. It also incorporates photovoltaic lighting to enable its use into the evening. It is designed to improve street amenity, be accessible to all, encourage social connection, support local activity and make our street feel more welcoming and people friendly for everyone.
Who can use the parklet?
The parklet is a public space open to everyone! While it isn’t owned by any one business, Council expects it will help create a more vibrant environment that benefits everyone including nearby cafes and restaurants. It’s important to note that the parklet is not associated with any singular business for exclusive use, it is free to use by anyone.
