Kids Say is an interactive space for kids aged 5-12 years to have their say about what’s important for them living in the Blue Mountains and contribute to Council’s decision making.

Current Projects

The Kids Street Libraries are homes for books kids can borrow, read and return.

Why are we doing this? We want you to feel at home in your local community. Adults know how important reading is to learn new things and stretch your imagination, so we want to make sure you have plenty of opportunity to do this. We are working with our friends from the Men’s Shed and Women’s Shed to build the Street Libraries. Even our city Libraries are giving us some of their books to put in them, after they are installed. But we need your help:

  • to work out where to put the 10 Street Libraries in the future AND
  • what they should look like so that you will know that it’s a “Kids Street Library”.

So tell us what you think! Do your research then tell us where ONE street Library should go.

We will be taking ideas until 17 August 2020.

See below for more information.

Please note: COVID-19 pandemic restrictions may affect when these Street Libraries will be installed.
