Target audience: This consultation is open to all staff.

Background: The Asset Management Policy has not been updated since it was last adopted in 2017. It accompanies the Asset Management Strategy which is part of the Resourcing Strategy currently being reviewed as part of the Integrated Planning and Reporting cycle.

The policy relates to all natural and built assets managed by Council.
Many of the services Council provides to the community are supported by natural and built assets. Council is the custodian of over 1.3 billion dollars worth of physical assets. The purpose of this policy is to set the guiding principles for the strategic management of Council’s assets to ensure sustainable delivery of services to the community.’

The key update to the policy is the inclusion of Planetary Health principles into Council’s asset management practices.

It is anticipated that this policy will be endorsed by Council for Public Exhibition as part of the Integrated Planning and Reporting suite of documents, prior to being adopted by Council and placed on the Internet.

Thank you in advance for your participation in this feedback process.
