Draft temporary fencing and scaffolding policy

Council will ensure that temporary fencing and scaffolding erected within Council’s road reserves for purposes such as construction, excavation and demolition works and events are safe and effective to minimise risk for the broader community. It will ensure that fencing and scaffolding meet stringent requirements prescribed by regulations, codes and standards. This policy sets out Council’s approval requirements and design and installation criteria for construction fencing and scaffolding systems.

The policy also indicates application and use fees, to be considered as part of the 2022/2023 Management Plan (fee schedule), and if adopted be effective from the 1 July 2022.

The draft document can be viewed in the document library on this page or copies are available from Council’s Business and Information Centres at Civic Place, Katoomba and 104 Macquarie Road, Springwood from 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday from Wednesday 16 March to Tuesday 5 April 2022.

Any person may make a submission in writing on the draft policy. Submissions can be made by using the form below, by letter or by email to council@bmcc.nsw.gov.au. Submissions must be received by 5pm on Tuesday 5 April 2022.
