Blue Mountains City Council is inviting the community to comment on the draft Parking Precinct Plan for the Katoomba Falls / Scenic World precinct.
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE DRAFT PLAN HERE OR AT THE RIGHT OF THIS PAGE
The precinct is one of the Blue Mountains’ busiest visitor destinations and experiences high demand for parking and access. The draft Plan has been developed to improve parking, traffic movement, pedestrian safety and access, while supporting both local residents and the visitor economy.
The Plan proposes a range of short-, medium- and long-term actions, including formalising parking areas, restricting unsafe parking, improving pedestrian connections and investigating future parking capacity. It also considers the introduction of pay parking in selected areas, aligned with Council’s existing Visitor-Pay Parking Scheme, with free parking continuing for residents, ratepayers and carers through Council’s permit system.
The draft Plan is on public exhibition from 16 February to 30 March 2026. Community feedback will help shape the final Plan before it is reported back to Council.
