Draft Local Approvals Policy

The Council resolved at its meeting on the 28 June 2022, to exhibit the above draft document for public comment. The policy will be exhibited for 28 days from the 13 July to 9 August, with comments accepted for 42 days up to 23 August 2022.

Section 68 of the Local Government Act (LGA) lists a number of activities that require approval. The purpose of the Local Approvals Policy is to specify the circumstances where council approval is not required before carrying out an activity as well outlining the criteria that will be considered in determining an application. It addresses activities such as busking, footpath dining, street stalls, street trading, etc.

Copies of the document are available from the Blue Mountains City Council’s Business and Information Centres from 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday from Wednesday 13 July to Tuesday 9 August 2022. The document is also available on the web site bmcc.nsw.gov.au

Any person may make a submission in writing on the draft policy.

Submissions can be made either by letter or via email to council@bmcc.nsw.gov.au and must be received by 5pm on 23 August 2022.
