The Council resolved at its meeting on the 28 June 2022, to exhibit the above draft document for public comment. The policy will be exhibited for 28 days from the 13 July to 9 August.
The Flood Prone Land Policy sets out the roles and responsibilities for the management of flood liable land and the legislative framework. It provides information on the flood studies and flood risk management studies and plans completed for catchments in the Blue Mountains LGA. Flood-related studies are an important risk management tool.
This policy is intended to replace Council’s existing Flood Liable Land Policy and has been updated to reflect Council’s contemporary land use planning instruments.
