Draft Code of Meeting Practice 2026

About this project

The Model Code of Meeting Practice for Local Councils in NSW (the Model Meeting Code) is made under section 360 of the Local Government Act 1993 (the Act) and the Local Government (General) Regulation 2005 (the Regulation). This Code applies to all meetings of councils.

At the commencement of the new Council term, Councils are required to review and update the Code of Meeting Practice. Based on the Model, Council has prepared the draft Code of Meeting Practice 2026.

We would like to encourage residents to consider the draft and make relevant submissions.
