What is this document?
This is a draft Policy that provides guidance and requirements for accessibility at Council-produced events.
Who does this Policy apply to?
The Policy applies to all events where Blue Mountains City Council is the event organiser. It does not apply to privately run events, although it may be used as guidance for other event organisers.
Why is this Policy needed?
Council has legal obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and Disability Inclusion Act 2014 (NSW). The Policy provides a clear, consistent framework to support compliance and promote best practice.
