About this policy:
The OLG recently released a template policy regarding Councillor and Staff interactions, to which we have based this Councillor and Staff Interaction Policy.
This aim of this policy is to facilitate a positive working relationship between Councillors and Council Staff, by providing guidance on formats, method, and delivery of interactions between Councillors and Council Staff.
It is important to recognise the importance of interaction between Councillors and Council Staff to ensure that day-to-day duties are conducted professionally, ethically and always respectfully.
This policy compliments the Blue Mountains City Council Code of Conduct, and while this policy is not a model policy, it has been recommended by the OLG, and we look forward to receiving your comments and feedback in this regard.
It is anticipated that this policy will be adopted by Council and publicly released.
