Public Exhibition Community Garden Policy
Community Garden Policy
Council is seeking community feedback on the Community Garden Policy as part of the public exhibition process.
Public Exhibition is open from 10 August to 21 September 2026.
Community gardens play an important role in bringing people together, promoting healthy lifestyles, supporting local food production and enhancing environmental sustainability.
The Community Garden Policy outlines how Council supports the establishment and ongoing management of community gardens on Council-owned or managed land. It provides a clear and consistent framework for assessing new proposals, managing licenses and ensuring community gardens operate safely, responsibly and for the benefit of the wider community.
Following the public exhibition period, all submissions will be reviewed and considered before the policy is finalised for adoption by Council.
We encourage you to review the Community Garden Policy and provide your feedback by completing the survey and/or submission form below.
The Policy is available on this page (to the right for desktop users and below for phone users).
How to provide feedback:

- Alternatively, you can email your submission to council@bmcc.nsw.gov.au, attention Community Development Team.
- Public Exhibition is open until 21 September 2026
