SUBMISSIONS FOR THE COMMUNITY FACILITIES STRATEGIC PLAN HAVE NOW CLOSED

Council has approximately 120 facilities across different functions and services. Our community facilities provide for a range of vital services and activities. These services and functions include neighbourhood services, early childhood services (early childhood education and care services and early childhood health), First Nations services, youth services, cultural and community services, halls and spaces for hire for community activities, libraries and public toilets.

Council plays a key role in developing, managing and maintaining community facilities and has a complex set of responsibilities which need to be resourced and budgeted for, from building new facilities and amenities, carrying out major repairs, delivering regular and reactive maintenance, internal fit outs, cleaning, managing hall bookings to cleaning public toilets.

This Community Facilities Strategic Plan seeks to assist Council in taking an integrated and deliberate approach to supporting these important community services and activities for our community’s wellbeing, through the strategic planning, provision and maintenance of community facilities. Our vision is to provide a network of sustainably managed community facilities to meet the need of the local community now and into the future.

The Community Facilities Strategic Plan will be on public exhibition and submissions may be made until May 16, 2024.

If you would like to discuss the Community Facilities Strategic Plan follow the links below to make at time to meet with the Community Development Service for a brief presentation, with time to ask questions and provide feedback.

Meetings can be online or face to face, at Springwood or Katoomba.
