We would like to invite your comments on the draft Communications and Media Policy.

The draft policy is available in the Document Library on the right hand side of this page. Please use the Submission Form tab below to provide your response, or email your questions or comments directly to MediaUnit@bmcc.nsw.gov.au.

Target audience: Councillors, Staff and Council volunteers, contractors, committee members and delegates.

The current consultation process is for Staff only.

Deadline for comments: COB, Friday 25 June, 2021.

Contact: Belinda Zammit, Program Leader – Communications & Marketing

Background:

This policy updates the current Media Policy. It has retained most of the conventions of the current policy, but has been expanded to reference the BMCC Brand Guide and BMCC Writing Style Guide.

BMCC encourages open communication with the community and the media, with an emphasis on promoting a positive, progressive and professional image of Council and Staff. Effective, clear and consistent communication by our organisation is vital if Council is to effectively engage with, serve and inform the community.

This policy outlines who is authorised to make comments to the media, and approve promotional material, on behalf of Council to ensure we achieve consistency in our communications.

Thank you in advance for your participation in this feedback process.
