Consultation has concluded
The new City Art Policy provides a framework for acquiring and managing art in order to ensure artistic standards, meet community needs and provide adequate storage, display and maintenance of artworks that enter the Council’s art collections.
The Policy also ensures acquisitions are in keeping with relevant laws, legislation and museum standards in relation to Copyright, privacy, indigenous cultural heritage and ethics.
The Policy acknowledged the positive outcomes of integrating art into the fabric of the City and continues Council’s commitment to strengthen and promote the Blue Mountains as a City of the Arts within a World Heritage Area.
