*Survey closes Monday 21 January 2019.

At its meeting of 21 August, 2018, the Council endorsed the Blaxland Town Centre Masterplan. This followed a significant community consultation process commencing in November 2016.

The Masterplan identified seven key focus areas including the renewal of built form within the town centre to meet the community vision developed during the consultation process. This proposed increases in building heights within the commercial town centre to facilitate higher design standards, provision of increased carparking, and the improvement of pedestrian amenity, including provision of outdoor dining – among others.

Council has subsequently undertaken a building envelope study to identify optimal building forms and heights and these are now proposed for community consultation to continue the significant level of community input undertaken throughout the Masterplanning process.

The Envelope Study and Public Domain design proposal was the subject of a community workshop at the Sharon Burridge Hall on Saturday 24 November. Those unable to attend can view the documents here, until Monday 21 January 2019. Hard copies of documents will also be available at this time at the Blaxland Library and at Council’s offices in Springwood and Katoomba.

Have your say on the proposed increase in building heights, and the Public Domain proposals (on Council’s roads and footpaths) here.
