Blackheath Village Centre Upgrade

Through the Western Sydney City Deal and the Building Better Regions Fund, we have more than $3.3 million to spend on Blackheath village centre.

This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to improve the liveability and accessibility of this popular village centre.

Using the Blackheath Masterplan, adopted in June 2018, expected improvements include:

  1. Enhance the entry to the village
  2. Provide traffic calming devices on Govetts Leap Road
  3. Create an integrated town square
  4. Improve access to the Community Hall on Gardiner Crescent
  5. Add a roundabout to the intersection of Wentworth and Govetts Leap Roads

Good news! The survey has been extended and is now open until Thursday 9 April!

We’ve had a great response so far, and lots of interest from the community, and we want to ensure every part of the community has a chance to provide their feedback.

Please complete the survey sent to Blackheath households, or use the online version below.

The projects have been funded under the Western Parkland City Liveability Program, which is part of the Western Sydney City Deal (WSCD). The WSCD is a 20 year-agreement between Australian and NSW governments, and the eight local Councils of the Western Parkland City.

Blackheath Soldiers Memorial Park is also receiving funding through the Western Sydney City Deal.

Please note: unfortunately the initial adoption date published for the Blackheath Masterplan was incorrect. The Blackheath Masterplan first went to Council in September 2017, and was unanimously endorsed by Council in June 2018.
